What about next year?

Pirate Plunge Jan 1, 2018

There was 77 people in attendance for the sponsor lunch that was held at St Sylvester Church two days ago. Jerry Foster spoke for the Pirates on the Panhandle Social Club and announced that 7,800.00 had been raised from the first Pirate Plunge which was held on Navarre beach January 1,2018. The second announcement was plans for next year.

There will be a New Years event at the Navarre Conference Center with catered food, band, for those who can not make the Pirate Plunge on New Years Day. Seating will be limited to two hundred guest. The Pirate Plunge on New Years Day will increase in size to one large heated tent that will hold 600 guest , have a band, catered food, a online way to register and order your t-shirt . This will mean that on event day you will just walk in with no wait or long lines in the cold outside.

Below is a statement from Weekend Food Program.

Friday was a fantastic day for the Program as the Pirates On The Panhandle formally presented the great big check from the Pirate Plunge.  This event raised over $7,800 for our program!

If you look closely you’ll see the check is for just over $5,000 and this is the most exciting piece of the story.  We agreed collectively on partnering once again on next years Pirate Plunge!  The money we held back will be used to secure the tents and items needed to be reserved now for use at next years event!  There will be improvements and much excitement for next years event as we hope to have many more community members participate along side us as we walk the plank and take the plunge for Our students!
Also announced is a New Years Eve party by the Pirates who love making a difference and having a good time!  Maybe you’ve been looking for a place to join in some swashbuckling fun, if so, the Pirates are always looking for more to join them!
Thank you to the Pirates on the Panhandle and especially Jersey Jerry Foster, Randy Meredith, Mark Miller, Anthony, Chief and all the sponsors and people who made this event possible.  It’s hard to believe that this event was put together in 6 weeks over two holidays!
Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate yesterday including Elect Rob Williamson for Commissioner, Commissioner Sam Parker, and to St Sylvester Catholic Church, to Father and all the people who served and set up yesterday.  It was a great day celebrating people making a difference in our community.
Pictures are many sponsors who were on hand yesterday, members of the Pirates on the Panhandle, members of St Sylvester Catholic Church, our Commissioners, and program volunteers who braved the 28 degree cold with high winds for hours.  We are so thankful for each of you and we look forward to a fantastic event next year!!
