5G will be coming to the US by 2020. What will this mean for you?
For one it will be much faster than what we use today. How much faster you ask? It is estimated that the speed will be 40 times faster then today’s 4G network.
Currently wireless companies are broadcasting a signal in the range of 800 MHz to 3,000 MHz. The new 5G may be broadcast in a much higher frequency.
This higher frequency while allowing for a much faster speeds is not as strong of a signal and will require more towers.
Verizon is working to bring 5G as early as 2017.
4G should still be around for the next 4 to 6 years but make no mistake about it 5G is on the way.
