Work has started towards the demolition and replacement of a 1.0 MGD (million gallon per day) clarifier at the Holley-Navarre Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF), located in Navarre, Florida.
This will require removing the existing clarifier and constructing a new identical cast-in-place concrete clarifier. Over the last two weeks, the contractor has been mobilizing equipment onto the site and beginning some preliminary work. The project is expected to last approximately 180 days with a final completion date of August 10, 2019. The contractor and HNWS are doing everything possible to have the project completed on time, barring any unforeseen issues.
Throughout the project there is expected to be noise and truck traffic in the areas surrounding the site. Regular truck traffic will be experienced on Pepper Dr. and Coral St. There will be intermittent traffic for heavy equipment and material deliveries experienced on Fenwick St., Moray Dr., Frankfort St., Pepper Dr., and Coral St. An exhibit depicting the truck routes is available on HNWS website at www.hnws-fl.com.
When the project is completed the WWTF will be returned to full capacity for operation. Additionally, temporary access roads will be returned to pre-existing conditions.
