
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles’ (DHSMV) technology hardware is scheduled to be relocated, which will make several online services unavailable to customers and stakeholders throughout the weekend of May 6-8, 2016. Impacted services will go offline at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time Friday, May 6 and are scheduled to be restored by 8:00 a.m. Monday, May 9. Customers will also not be able to access the department’s internet services during the weekend.
The department anticipates that offices will be open to walk-in customers Monday, May 9, but will it not be scheduling appointments in its driver license offices May 9-10.Customers who know their driver license, identification card or vehicle registration will expire on or before May 10, should visit an office or go online to renew on or before 5 p.m. Friday, May 6 to ensure their license, ID card and/or registration does not expire. While many of the department’s convenience services for customers will be unavailable during the move, all law enforcement related systems will remain operational throughout the weekend.
