According to a FHP report a 4 year old child was struck by a car on US Hwy 90 tonight around 6 pm.
James Nance from Pace was driving a 2007 Ford Explorer west on US Hwy 90 in the outside lane. The child walked northbound away from the Simpson River fishing pier and subsequently into traffic on the westbound lanes of US Hwy 90. It was there according to the FHP report that the left front of the Explorer collided with the right side of the child.
The child is from Pace and is at Sacred Heart in critical condition.
Alcohol was not related to this accident.
