According to the Okaloosa County sheriffs office a 911 call for a distressed swimmer in the Gulf of Mexico off 1018 Highway 98 in Destin came in around 11:30 AM Saturday.
A 63 year old visitor from Indiana was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico and later pronounced dead at a local emergency room, the victim of an apparent drowning.
