
On Friday, 30 November, 2018, at 10:00 am, CST, FHP Trooper made contact with the suspect driver involved in the hit and run accident which occurred on 29 November, 2018, in Okaloosa County Florida. The suspect was identified as Mr. Dermeteres Robinson of Destin, Florida. After Mr. Robinson was interviewed and gave a confession with his involvement in the accident. Mr. Robinson stated that he was driving his red 2016 Range Rover, when it collided with the Pedestrian on U.S. Highway 98 just over the Brooks Bridge on 29 November 2018 at 2:00 am. Based on physical evidence from Mr. Robinson’s vehicle which were consistent with the accident involving the pedestrian, he was placed under arrest and taken into custody at 10:07 am, CST, for Felony Hit & Run causing serious bodily injury, and failing to report a traffic accident. The pedestrian was also charged with walking on a public road, while entering into the path of a moving vehicle.
