Home Government COMMISSIONER MEETING LAST NIGHT

COMMISSIONER MEETING LAST NIGHT

In a over seven hour long Commissioner meeting last night all five Commissioners agreed that County Administrator Dan Schebler will be reprimanded over his handling of staff about state road funding not being applied for with DOT.

Dave Piech, Bob Cole and Colten Wright went on record stating their opposition to firing County Administrator Dan Schebler.

James Calkins and Sam Parker went on record that they had a problem with Dan Schebler telling Commissioners that staff had filed an application with DOT when in fact they had not filed any application with DOT for funds.

It was suggested by a citizen in attendance last night that an impartial person or group of people might best be suited to look into why this situation happened and how this can be avoided in the future. Also if a stronger action by the board needs to be addressed pertaining to Dan Schebler or staff pertaining to this matter.

Commissioner James Calkins said he supported the idea of a independent party to review  and present to the board an assessment with a recommendation as how to move forward.

Commissioner Colten Wright said he would agree to a independent review. Commissioner Dave Piech asked Commissioner James Calkins if he could report back to the board at the next meeting and present a suggestion as to who to use for a independent review.

A reprimand letter prepared by Commissioner Dave Piech for Dan Schebler will be addressed at the next County Commissioner meeting.
