CRESTVIEW MAN ARRESTED multiple charges

A Crestview area man with numerous felony warrants who has fled from law enforcement multiple times in recent weeks was apprehended Sunday outside a home on Griffith Cemetery Road in Baker after being unable to outrun an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office K9. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deputies learned 39-year old James Woodard Allen of Sundance Way in Crestview was at the location working on a vehicle. Upon sight of uniformed deputies, Allen ran into the woods. A perimeter was set up and Allen hid in the tree line inside the perimeter. An OCSO K9 began a track and Allen was spotted.

Allen fled but was challenged by the K9 and taken into custody then taken to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview. He was served warrants on twelve separate charges and received an additional count of resisting arrest.

The outstanding warrants included: failure to appear for domestic violence battery with strangulation, possession of cocaine, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill – domestic violence related (two counts), burglary with assault and battery, battery, fleeing and eluding (two counts), multiple counts of resisting an officer without violence, failure to register a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense), and violating a pre-trial release condition. 

Navarre Newspaper reminds are readers that James Woodard Allen is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
