DESTIN MAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES

David Rodriguez

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a man pointing a gun at another man’s head at Brown’s Grocery Store near Holt.

Deputies say 39-year old David Rodriguez of Destin was standing next to a white car when they arrived and got into the open driver’s door when the deputy began speaking to him.

He was told to exit the vehicle and was placed in the back of a patrol car while the deputy was investigating.

When Rodriguezwas removed from the patrol car the deputy spotted a wrapper with suspected methamphetamine on the floorboard.

Meantime the owner of the white car gave the OCSO consent to search it for any weapons. A black revolver was found edged between the center console and the driver’s seat.

Rodriguez is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Prior convictions range from lewd and lascivious behavior and a sex offender violation, to two separate convictions for possession of a controlled substance.

Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that David Rodriguez is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
