Judge John T. Brown sentenced Carissa Parker to 53 years

On February 13, 2023, the Honorable Judge John T. Brown sentenced Carissa Parker to 53 years in the Department of Corrections. Ms. Parker pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder with a Firearm on November 17, 2022, and faced a sentence of 25 years to Life in prison.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The case stems from Ms. Parker contracting the killing of her daughter’s father. The Court ordered that Ms. Parker not have contact with her minor child during her sentence. The co-defendant, Jordan Phillips, pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder with a Firearm and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 16, 2023.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Michelle Sandler on behalf of State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden.
