It is with heavy hearts that Eglin Air Force Base Fire & Emergency Services announce the tragic passing of Battalion Chief Matthew Becker. Matt was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday 13 Mar.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, 2-kids, mom, dad and other family members and friends. Chief Becker was an invaluable member of Eglin Fire and Emergency Services for 17 years. Matt was a dedicated leader, mentor and friend to all within the Eglin Reservation and the community. His commitment to service and his unwavering dedication to the safety of our base will always be remembered. We ask that you keep his loved ones and members of Eglin Fire and Emergency Service in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this challenging period of grief and loss.
Funeral arrangements will be communicated once finalized. Let us honor Chief Becker’s memory by continuing to uphold the values he so passionately lived by.
