The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is involving a fatal shooting that took place in the Lovejoy Road area near Fort Walton Beach around 9:45 last night.
Multiple people reported hearing numerous gunshots from inside their homes in the area of Marler Street and Shirley Drive.
Deputies and a Fort Walton Beach Police Department officer who arrived on the scene found a deceased female in the roadway near that intersection.
A woman shot during a rash of gunfire last night off Lovejoy Road has been identified as 44-year old Nancey Deatheragee Schreiner of Fort Walton Beach.
Schreiner, who died from a gunshot wound to the chest, was found in the roadway near the intersection of Marler Street and Shirley Drive around 9:45 Tuesday evening.
Okaloosa County Sheriff”s Office deputies found evidence that dozens of bullets had been fired from multiple weapons.
At least three vehicles and several homes were struck, but there were no other reports of injuries.
