At 11:30 am today Holly-Navarre Fire department received a call for a structor fire on Beacon Court in Country Breeze Estates in Navarre. When fire crews arrived heavy fire was discovered in the garage area that had extended up into the attic of the house.
The owner was home alone and was only aware that her home was on fire after a neighbor helped to get her and a pet out. Extensive damage to the home due to the fire but only one was injured , a fireman who was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion.
Midway, Florosa and Navarre beach fire Departments were involved in extinguishing the house fire. City of Mary Esther and Gulf Breeze offered coverage .
Red Cross is assisting the family.
