This photo was apparently taken either just before or after the deployment operations when the contractor (Walter Marine) was picking up an observer for the county in his kayak.
Some concerns were raised by the public about is there reefs being placed close to the pier. We checked with the senior engineer at Taylor Engineering who is overseeing the operation and confirmed they are only deploying reefs in the permitted area which is more than a mile offshore. They are about halfway through the project. Below is a map of where the reefs are located and a short video.
Navarre is lucky enough to have The Weekend Food Program of Navarre.They help feed over 600 children from the Navarre area and the Pirate Plunge is an important fundraiser to help them continue the great work that is helping children in Navarre.
There is a new event for this year that is the New Year’s Eve Dinner/Dance at the Navarre Convention Center.
