At 10:30 am. this morning a high speed chase by FHP did not end up so well for the person driving a silver truck as a crash occurred near 399 and Avenida de sol . The chase headed down 87 from Holley area then on to 399. About 6 to 8 cars were in pursuit of the truck.
Fire,SRSO and FHP are on the scene.
In the photo above the female driving this car was removed and her condition is unknown.
LIFEGUARD was there as EMS awaited their landing.

We do not know the condition of the driver of the silver truck.
UPDATE
At approximately 10:00 am, the Florida Highway Patrol requested the assistance of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stolen vehicle. Troopers advised the vehicle was southbound on Hwy 87 after running from a Trooper during a traffic stop. During the course of the incident, the vehicle came to a stop and a suspect ran from the trooper on foot. This was on Nichols Lake Road in Milton.
The suspect was then observed driving a separate vehicle from the scene at a high rate of speed. This stolen vehicle was followed by Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies. The vehicle traveled southbound on Hwy 87 recklessly, with no regard to other motorists. After Deputies noticed the reckless manner in which this vehicle was driving, the pursuit was terminated.
Later, Santa Rosa Dispatch received a call in reference to a roll over motor vehicle accident on East Bay Blvd. This was the same vehicle which we were in contact with on Hwy 87. The vehicle was involved in a roll over after striking another unrelated vehicle. The suspect was taken out of the vehicle and transported via helicopter to a hospital. The driver appeared to be in serious condition.
At this time, this case is still under investigation. SRSO is working closely with the Florida Highway Patrol.
