On December 1, 2024, at 4:36 pm , the Midway Fire District responded to a residential structure fire on the 2700 block of Villa Woods Circle. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the eaves of a one-story apartment. The fire was located in the attic space above a fireplace, which was in use at the time.
Thanks to the swift response and effective tactics of the fire crews, the fire was quickly extinguished. However, extensive overhaul was required to ensure the fire was completely out and to assess the extent of the damage.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Midway was assisted by Holley-Navarre Engine 41 and Pensacola Beach Station 13.
