Located Human Remains
Detectives with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office are currently on scene at the County/State dirt pits located off of B. Lowery Road in Milton. At 12:08pm today, a citizen called the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office to report they had discovered what they believed to be human remains in a wooded area near the pits.
Upon arrival of Major Crimes Detectives, it was confirmed the remains are human. Crime Scene arrived shortly after and began to process the scene along with the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
At this time, there isn’t a lot of information to release. The remains will be taken to the medical examiner’s office to attempt identification. More information will be released as it becomes available.
