Ira May Bruce , Santa Rosa County first female County Commissioner passed away last night .
Ira Mae was an influencer before the name had ever been coined. Ira was one of the first people to introduce herself to me after I moved to Navarre in 2004. Ira was a real estate broker for Century 21 Island View Realty and co-owner of the business.
In 1981 Ira was President of NABOR.
Ira Mae is one of those rare individuals that you just like right off the bat when you first meet them. I know that our community will always remember her tireless contribution to what ever she was involved with , not only in Navarre but throughout Santa Rosa County and beyond .
Due to the pandemic there will be no immediate service. The family has decided to hold a celebration of her life early next year.
