Santa Rosa County Commissioner Chairman Bob Cole on Monday selected James Calkins as his nominee to the County Zoning Board, but not without some criticism during the Monday Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting.
Calkins, who has been serving as President on the Holley-Navarre Water System board of directors, submitted his application on May 30 for the volunteer zoning board position.
At today’s Commissioners meeting it went up for a vote. James Calkins was approved by a 3 to 2 vote. Commissioners Bob Cole, Rob Williamson and Don Salter voted for James Calkins while Lane Lynchard and Sam Parker voted no .
