Jayer Williamson has resigned from the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners effective immediately. Williamson, who is running for state representative, is unable to complete his tenure due to Florida election law as the terms of the two offices would overlap.
“When I found out that the only way to comply with the state statute would be an immediate resignation from the board, my heart sank.” said Williamson. “I was looking forward to serving these last four months and finishing the work we have started in District One. It truly has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve the citizens of Santa Rosa County.”
