On Thursday , July 1 in a private ceremony at the Navarre Beach Fire station Danny Fureigh , Fire Chief presented a Citizen Life Saving Award to Benjamin Cross .
Benjamin was recognized for his heroic efforts rescuing an 11 year old boy in a strong rip current on June 30th. A soft spoken young man who did not want attention simply said “ I would want a surfer to help my siblings if they were in the same situation “ he received a Life Saving Certificate, Challenge coin, Life guard hat and shirt, and a shirt from NBFR Union!
