I have been a Navarre resident for 4 years.

My father served as an Alderman and various other positions for 30 years in the City of Black Jack, Mo. 34 years as a teacher and guidance counselor.

Reasons for running:

Our family has always emphasized public service. My dad said on multiple occasions, “Don’t just make a living, make a difference.”

Navarre and Santa Rosa have some very big challenges. Infrastructure is the most obvious with roads and traffic being number 1. Additionally, storm water runoff is an item many citizens have spoken about with me since I began campaigning.

A large portion of the Santa Rosa County Budget relies on real estate taxes. The tourists who travel here pay NO real estate tax, yet they drive on the roads, use sewer and water services and occasionally police, fire and EMS. I would like to see us shift some of that tax burden onto those visiting our area.

Safety of our residents will be my number one priority. I am in favor of looking again at a cross-county connector road for traffic relief AND as an emergency route for approaching hurricanes.

Citizen feedback will be the key to working successfully as a county commissioner. I will always make every effort to make myself available to listen to citizen’s concerns and attempt to address them in a timely manner.
