Robert Shane Lucas was arrested about 3:30 pm today on a charge of first-degree premeditated murder in the death of missing Navarre woman Carrie Brewer, whose body was found yesterday in the garage of her home, located at Fulva Dr in Navarre.
The arrest took place after a hi speed pursuit with shots fired by deputies that ended on Bay Street in Gulf Breeze. The car that Robert Shane Lucas was driving had been stolen from a business located on Navarre beach today around noon.
Robert Shane Lucas is currently at Gulf Breeze Hospital having stitches applied to wounds and is expected to be booked at Santa Rosa County Jail tonight.
Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Robert Shane Lucas is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
