According to a SRSO arrest report a home security camera captured footage of a naked white male walking past a residence in close proximity to the front door. At the time of the incident, two children and a babysitter were inside the residence. None of the occupants of the residence observed the naked male.
The responding sheriff was inside the residence obtaining information, when a phone call was received from the homeowner who was not at home. He indicated he could see a man was on his front porch by way of an app on his cell phone that monitored his security camera system.
The sheriff walked outside the residence and observed the naked male, later identified as Joseph Musso, standing in the driveway at 1500 block on Woodlawn Way. Mr. Musso was completely naked and had an erection. He was standing near a red pickup truck and was holding a plastic bottle. The bottle was later identified by Mr. Musso as containing cooking oil.
The sheriff approached Mr. Musso and advised him to stay where he was. Mr. Musso attempted to run around the truck to avoid the sheriff.
The sheriff caught up to him and removed the bottle of cooking oil from his hand. At the time of this incident there was heavy rainfall. The sheriff attempted to grab Mr. Musso’s arms to handcuff him but he slipped away and started to run through the yard toward the street. The sherrif commanded Mr. Musso to stop but he continued. The sheriff advised Mr. Musso to stop or he would be tased. Mr. Musso ignored commands and ran north on Woodlawn Way down the middle of the street. Mr. Musso was still completely naked. Mr. Musso was tased.
Mr. Musso fell to the ground on his back. The sheriff commanded him to turn over and place his hands behind his back. Mr. Musso refused to comply. After some hesitation, Mr. Musso turned over and was handcuffed.
Mr. Musso was placed in a patrol vehicle and EMS was summoned to remove the taser probes.
After Mr. Musso was treated by EMS, he was read his Miranda rights .
Mr. Musso then stated he resides om Woodlawn Way. He stated he receives sexual gratification by being naked in public. Mr. Musso stated he left his residence and walked to the Woodlawn Beach Middle School. He stated he walked to the gravel access road north of the track at the school.
Mr. Musso stated he then proceeded to walk through the neighborhood . Mr. Musso stated
and received sexual gratification by touching his genitals and walking naked in the rain.
Mr. Musso stated he was not aroused by the sight of any individual in the area .
Mr. Musso stated he was carrying the cooking oil because he liked to rub it on his legs. Mr. Musso stated he had been walking n the neighborhood for approximately one and one half hour prior to being detected. Mr. Musso stated he has previously walked naked in his neighborhood on one prior occasion. He stated he prefers to walk naked at the beach and stated he has walked naked at Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach.
Mr. Musso was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he was charged as follows:
Loitering and Prowling – Misdemeanor 2nd Degree – 856.021 F.S.S. (Bond – $500)
Lewd and Lascivious Behavior – Misdemeanor 2nd Degree – 798.0200 F.S.S. (Bond – $500) Resisting Officer Without Violence – Misdemeanor 1st Degree – 843.0200 F.S.S. (Bond – $1000)
Exposure of Sexual Organs – Misdemeanor 1st Degree -800.03 F.S.S. (Bond – $1000) Total Bond – $3000.00
