Hurricane Sally Recovery
The National Park Service has deployed its Eastern Incident Management Team, including 38 responders from 22 parks, to assist the national seashore recover following Hurricane Sally. The park’s top priority is to clear and provide some access along J. Earle Bowden Way (Hwy. 399). An engineering survey of the road’s condition and structural integrity is underway. There are no updates at this time regarding reopening times and what access will be available upon reopening.
All Florida areas of the national seashore remain closed to all public access. In Mississippi, all areas and islands managed by the National Park Service, except Ship Island, are open.
