Press Release;

Just after 6:30 am yesterday, Deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to assist Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in an investigation. We were asked to locate a grey in color Chevy vehicle bearing a Florida tag LGWC19 at 1859 Prado Street in Navarre. . The vehicle was being sought in connection to a string of vehicle burglaries in Okaloosa County. The suspects were described as 3 young males’ wearing masks and gloves.

Upon our arrival, the vehicle was in the driveway with the tag removed. In plain sight, the tag was relocated to the inside of the vehicle along with gloves, masks and hoodies on the seats. The trunk was open and inside were ammunition and firearm magazines. This information was communicated to Okaloosa County Investigators. Based on our findings, a search warrant process was initiated.

At 10:52 am, 2 suspects exited the residence and were detained. Another suspect was seen exiting the home. When ordered to exit the residence, that individual ran back into the home. Several minutes later, the same suspect ran out of the back door to the home with a bag and threw it over a fence. This was in the presence of a Deputy standing on the other side of the fence. That bad contained 5 handguns.

Due to the nature of the incident, unknown number of occupants and possibly armed individuals inside the residence, SWAT was activated to make entry. Detectives also obtained signed search warrants to the residence. As SWAT was beginning their entry procedure, all of the occupants exited the residence on their own. They were all taken into custody.

The serial numbers of the guns recovered matched the descriptions of those stolen from Okaloosa County.
