
Christopher Alford 29, of Opelika, Alabama was arrested Monday night with multiple charges after he allegedly attacked his wife and threatened a hotel manager. This happened at the Days Inn & Suites in Navarre.
Alford’s wife said she and Alford got into a verbal argument over the food she had gotten for him at a nearby restaurant. Alford’s wife attempted to call 911, but he snatched the phone from her and pulled the phone cord out of the wall according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s office report
Alford’s wife tried to flee the room, but Alford stopped her. He then proceeded to sit on her torso and pin her arms to the ground according to the Sheriff’s report.
Their child was lying on the bed and was in danger of serious injury if she were to fall off without proper supervision according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s office report
Theora Myers, manager of the Days Inn said in her statement in the report that Alford threatened her with a box cutter and waving it in front of her after she went to the room to see what was going on.
The police report indicated Myers distanced herself from Alford. When officers arrived Chris Alford was placed in custody.
Domestic violence, aggravated assault and child neglect are among the charges facing Christopher Alford.
Alford was released today from Santa Rosa County Jail on $500 bond.
