On 12/16/16 at approximately 10:45 pm, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance in a wooded area near River Birch Road and Bergren Road. Information was received indicating there was a stabbing.
A command area for SRSO was set up near the Liberty Church and 98 area.
During the course of the initial investigation, It was determined that one individual was stabbed and deceased. Another individual was taken to an area hospital.
Information was obtained leading SRSO to believe there was a large gathering in the area when the incident took place.
Santa Rosa County Major Crimes Detectives responded along with a Crime Scene unit.
The name of the male who was found dead has not been released.

The deceased was identified as – Daniel Jebadiah Lee Bubanas 3/22/98
Over 50 individuals have been questioned during the course of the investigation as of the time of thisrelease. Detectives have also spoken to an unspecified number of “persons of interest”.
