A three year old boy was killed in an apparent domestic violence related murder followed by an attempted suicide at a Bluewater Bay area home Friday.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to 1476 Rawlins Court around 4:30 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call.
The child’s mother had arrived home from work to find both her son and her husband, 61-year old Frederick Franken, on the floor of the home.
Three year old Frederick Franken Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
At last word Frederick Franken was listed in critical condition at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Monday in connection with the murder of a three year old Bluewater Bay area child.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Frederick Franken, Jr. was killed Friday at the home he shared with his parents on Rawlins Court.
The child’s father, 61-year old Frederick Franken, then used the weapon on himself.
The child’s mother discovered the pair inside the home after returning from work late Friday afternoon.
Franken Sr. remains in critical condition at an area hospital.
