On 4/25/17 at approximately 9:40 am, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a burglary in progress. The location was the 2800 block of Augustus Rd in Navarre. The caller advised there were 2 suspects currently in the residence.
While Deputies were in route, both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the suspects driving on East Bay Blvd where they were observed bailing out of the vehicle. One suspect (Matthew Aaron Crawford Lynch) was immediately taken into custody. The second suspect fled wearing all camouflage into a wooded area.

A perimeter was immediately setup to contain the suspect. An SRSO K-9 was deployed to track and locate the suspect. After a brief search, the K-9 located the second suspect who refused multiple verbal commands to surrender, forcing the K-9 to take apprehension measures (A bite). The suspect was then taken into custody by Deputies.

The suspect was taken to a local area hospital for evaluation due to complaints of chest pains. He was identified as Walter William Blakeman (10/5/80). He has not been booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail as of this release. Lynch is being held on $22,250.00 bond.
This case remains under investigation.
Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Walter William Blakeman and Matthew Aaron Crawford Lynch are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
