Vacant mobile home heavily damaged in fire.

February 14, 2022. At 5:14 am. the Holley-Navarre Fire District was alerted for a possible residential structure fire, dispatch advised the 911 call came in by someone passing by, and stated that it was on the south side of Hwy 98, located between Walmart and the Samurai Restaurant. While responding, Engine 45 located the building on fire and notified incoming units the structure fire would be located at 2000 block of Blankenship Rd. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Engine 45’s Captain reported a “working fire” on a single-wide mobile home. Engine 45 initiated an aggressive offensive attack. Engine 45 advised dispatch, and all units that a neighbor stated that it was possible that homeless person could be inside the structure and that they were transitioning into a rescue operation in an attempt to locate anyone in the unburned portion of the structure. The search was reported as all clear, no victims were found. A complete search of the rest of the structure was conducted once conditions allowed, it was determined there was no one inside. 

Engine 41 and Engine 37 were assigned to supply water to Engine 45 and assist with fire suppression efforts. There was not a water source near the incident scene. Water was attained by a hydrant one street to the east of the incident scene and a shuttle operation was utilized. 

The blaze was called under control at 0539 and fire ground operations were completed at 0642. No injuries were reported. The mobile home is a complete loss.

 

Responding units were Holley-Navarre Fire – Engine 45, Engine 41, Battalion Chief 40 and Chief 40; Midway Fire – Engine 37, Battalion Chief 35 and District Chief 35; Navarre Beach Fire – Ladder 49 and Chief 49.
