Vehicle crash submerged in a retention pond

Date/Time: October 18, 2025 – 10:36 pm.  Location: East Bay Blvd. near Cedar Street.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Units from the Midway Fire District were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash involving a red sedan that failed to negotiate a sharp curve while traveling westbound. The vehicle left the roadway, breached a chain-link fence, and came to rest partially submerged in a retention pond.
The driver self-extricated prior to the arrival of first responders and fled the scene. Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a search of the surrounding area with negative results.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded and assumed investigative responsibility.  Note-there was a similar crash at this location, back on August 30, 2025.Report and photos by Midway Fire District.
