This morning, Florida showed again why we are the most military-friendly state in America. Surrounded by 300 veterans of every uniformed service and members of the Florida National Guard, Governor Rick Scott signed SB 160/HB 7023 into law.
This legislation, which Don Gaetz sponsored, eliminates Florida property taxes for all military members during their time of deployment in combat operations.
Don Gaetz said today ” beginning now, when any of our fellow Floridians are away from home defending our country in operational theaters they and their families won’t have to pay property taxes. This is yet another way for us to show military families who live, worship and work alongside us that we care about them, we understand the stress of separation during deployments and we want them here strengthening our neighborhoods, schools and communities.”
The Governor signed SB 160/HB 7023 at the Army National Guard Armory in Pensacola.
