Jaguars get second win against Raiders, 7-5
West Florida slashed the Raider baseball team 7-5 Tuesday.
It appears that this victory was West Florida’s second of the 2021 season, breaking a 14-game losing streak.
Starting pitcher Jacob Hawkins worked into the sixth inning, walking his leadoff batter, before relinquishing the ball — and a 6-5 deficit — to Joe Vanselow.
Navarre had it’s shot to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded and two out. But a Jaguar pitching change broke the momentum, and all three Raider base runners were stranded.
Hawkins took the loss.
The Raiders return to action Thursday for a rescheduled matchup with Pace, and they have another three games looming before the end of the month.
