Stabbed a man and dog in Pace

David Marlan Heck Jr

On 6/11/17 at approximately 3:00 pm, Deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance on Forest Creek Rd in Pace. Initial information indicated the suspect stabbed a male on scene and a dog.

Upon Deputies arrival, suspect David Marlan Heck Jr was seen running from a residence and jumped into a pool. When Heck realized he was seen, he attempted to run from Deputies. A Taser was deployed striking Heck with no effect. A second Deputy again tased Heck, where a physical struggle ensued. Heck was subsequently taken into custody after causing damage to the property of a Deputy.

It was determined prior to our arrival; Heck stabbed the male victim twice in the arms with a knife and a pet dog twice in the upper shoulder area. The male subject and the dog are ok.

Heck was taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he was being held without bond.

Charges include:

• Aggravated Assault with a weapon
• Aggravated Battery
• Burglary
• Resisting an Officer
• Cruelty to an animal.

Heck was just released from the Santa Rosa County jail just 4 days prior to this incident.
