Santa Rosa County’s newest ambassador, Myrtle the Turtle, will soon be installed at the I-10 Florida Welcome Center. Featuring “Historic Milton/Navarre Beach/Florida’s Playground” on her bright shell. The turtle is eager to greet visitors to the Sunshine State and promote tourism to her area.
Myrtle will make her debut on Friday, April 29. Alicia Hansen, the artist who designed Myrtle, will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to meet and greet visitors. Tourism development staff will also be on-hand to host a promotion booth, distributing Santa Rosa County vacation guides, nature trail brochures, sea turtle information, and promotional items. The public is invited to take a photo with Myrtle and learn more about recreational activities in the area.
